Freaky Friday is a musical with music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, and a book by Bridget Carpenter. This version was developed for licensing by Disney Theatrical Productions and is based on the 1972 book of the same name by Mary Rodgers and its 1976 and 2003 film adaptations. In the story, when an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again before the mom’s wedding. SGMT’s version is a fun, energetic musical with important heartfelt themes and loads of fun, especially for teenagers and their parents. This production is directed by Sammy Myrick. SGMT rated PG for some mature themes.

Meek flower shop assistant Seymour pines for co-worker Audrey. During a total eclipse, he discovers an unusual plant he names Audrey II, which feeds only on human flesh and blood. The growing plant attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling store. After Seymour feeds Audrey’s boyfriend, Orin, to the plant after Orin’s accidental death, he must come up with more bodies for the increasingly bloodthirsty plant. June 28-July 21.
